    • Government-proposed medical insurance scheme

    • Quoting the public consultation had received a good response, Dr. York Chow Yat-ngok said the government would go ahead with the health care financing reform.
    • The Health Bureau will set out details of the scheme and the regulatory mechanism after the three-month public consultation ends on Jan 7. 


    • The public consultation still has three weeks to go. It is premature for the government to announce it will go ahead with the reform.
    • Again, the government has turned a deaf ear to the people who have reservations. It is said more than 70 medical, patient and community group expressed their views at Legco last week and most have reservations.
    • The scheme is less than prefect, as many groups voiced concern on its failure to cover the primary care.
