    • Education Secretary Michael Suen confirmed receiving dialysis

    News Content

    • Education Secretary Michael Suen Ming-yeung admitted yesterday his kidney function had receded, and he had been receiving dialysis since October. He is also suffered from fatigue due to low blood sugar level.
    • But he insisted he was fit for the job, and had no intention of resigning.
    • Chief Executive Donald Tsang confirmed yesterday that Suen told him and Chief Secretary Henry Tang last year when he discovered the kidney problem. Tsang said he supported Suen’s decisions to stay in the job.

    • Suen is the fifth minister in 19 months admits serious health problem.
    • Suen did not take initiative to tell the public that he has a health problem. It is not till media report that he has a kidney problem that he admits he has been receiving dialysis. It proves that the government is trying to keep the public in a dark
